Clinical Observation of the Combined Aortic and Mitral Valve Replacement

Abstract
|
|
|
Fifty-five cases of the combined aortic and mitral valvular diseases were replaced using artificial valve simultaneously during the period from May 1984 till September 1993. They were 34 males and 21 females and their ages ranged from 16 to 61
years(mean age 41). There patients died within 30 days after surgery, another 3 patients did within 3 month postoperatively. There is 4 late death during the observative period.
Tissue valve was replaced 8 patients and mechanical valve in 47 patients.
The NYHA functional class was III or IV in 74.5% of patients preoperatively, 6 months postoperatively, 83.6% of patients were in functional class I or II.
